Step-by-step short-form instructions

This section briefly describes step-by-step the method of working with ATHENA Exchange.

1.	Exporting families:

–	Enter the folder for the export. Example: D:\DWG\Data Exchange

–	Select one or more families to be exported. Example: Element 3.

–	Execute the export. Example: Element 3.ath and Element 3.xml are described in the folder D:\DWG\Data Exchange\BIM Model.

 

2.	Processing the drawings with ATHENA:

–	Load the export with ATHENA (command: ATH_REVIT_IMPORT) Example: Element 3 is elaborated and the architect's dummy outline is replaced by genuine profile outlines and glass infills.

–	Use ATH_BIM_EXPORT in ATHENA and save the drawing with an index (e.g. Element 3_a.dwg).

 

3.	Process the type parameters from the XML file:

–	When using ATH_REVIT_IMPORT, all parameters of the XML file are imported as well

–	When exporting using ATH_BIM_EXPORT, the parameters can be edited in the ATHENA dialog box. Manual editing of the XML is no longer necessary.

 

4.	Update the families:

–	In Revit, select the folder containing the modified families (ATH). Example: D:\DWG\Data Exchange\BIM Model

–	Select the families which you want to import. Example: Element 3 {Element 3_a}

–	Select Update parameters if you want to adopt the modified type parameters.

–	Execute the import.

If the families to be imported are part of a family with several variants, the import is performed as a separate, independent family without variants and all samples used in the model are replaced by this new family. The variant is then removed from the original family.

 

5.	Import and result:

–	Once the import has been executed, a report window is displayed with implemented changes.

 

–	The dummy outline in Element 3 has been replaced by the elaborated outlines.

–	The added and modified parameters have been supplemented.
